Who is My Finance Company?

When you went solar with Better Earth, your system may have been financed through one of our lending partners. Your finance company handles your loan, lease, or PPA payments — they are separate from Better Earth.

If you're not sure who your finance company is, check your original paperwork or call us at (888) 373-9379 and we can look it up for you.

Questions Your Finance Company Handles

Contact your finance company for:

  • Monthly payment amount or balance

  • Payoff amount

  • Interest rate or loan terms

  • Missed payment or late fees

  • Buying out a lease or PPA

  • Changing your payment method or autopay

  • Transferring your financing when selling your home

Better Earth does not have access to your financing details — your finance company manages all of this directly.

  • System performance and production questions

  • Equipment issues (inverter, panels, battery)

  • Monitoring setup and troubleshooting

  • Warranty and service requests

  • Roof leak or installation-related concerns

  • General questions about your solar system

Understanding Your Finance Type

Cash Purchase

You own your system outright. Better Earth handles all maintenance and warranty service.

Loan (GoodLeap, EnFin, Sungage)

You own your system and make monthly payments to your lender. Better Earth handles all maintenance and warranty service. Your lender handles billing and payment questions.

Lease

Your finance company owns the system on your property. They are typically responsible for maintenance and service. Contact them first for service issues — they may coordinate with Better Earth or their own service team.

PPA (Power Purchase Agreement)

Similar to a lease — your finance company owns the system. You pay for the energy it produces at a set rate. Contact your finance company for service and maintenance.

Special Note for Sunnova Customers

If your system is financed through Sunnova, most service requests should go directly to Sunnova at (866) 786-6682. Sunnova manages their own service operations for leased and PPA systems.

Selling Your Home?

If you're selling your home, the process depends on your finance type:

  • Cash: No action needed. New buyer contacts Better Earth after closing.

  • Loan: Contact your lender to discuss payoff or transfer options. Give 30+ days notice.

  • Lease/PPA: Contact your finance company to initiate the agreement transfer to the buyer. This must be completed before closing.
